Every other transporter I've seen either gives you a top deck that lowers or, like the Matchbox Big Bedford, expects you just to put the cars on the top deck - which is not that realistic. Here we have a compromise from Dinky.
The Pullmore transporter (No.582/982) had been released in 1953, the year before this ramp, and it makes you think it was added to the range in response to demand from the boys who had the transporter and wanted a bit more realism in their play. It is made of pressed tin and has the following lettering printed on the bottom:
Dinky Toys, Made in England, Meccano Ltd, Loading Ramp for Pullmore Car Transporter and the model number.
The model number was 794 on its release in 1954, it was then immediately renumbered 994 and then the following year returned to No.794 which it remained until it was deleted in 1964.
