Vauxhall Viva - 136

The Vauxhall Viva HA, a staple British saloon from the early sixties. This from the period when Dinky were making some really nicely detailed models, we're beginning to get opening features and some chassis details on the base plate too.

This is a nice example in the darker blue, however I don't know what's going on with the front suspension, the base may have to come off to get that sorted.

Sometime later: Today (24th March 2008) off came the bottom plate. The problem wasn't hard to spot, one half of the front axle had come out from under the spring. This was very quickly and easily fixed and while the car was in bits I took the opportunity to give it a good clean. I decided to try fitting the base plate back on with a screw. I found a 2mm machine screw and drilled out the post to accommodate it. Once reassembled it was time for a new set of pictures - and a new set of tyres, the old ones were all four different. The new ones are not perfect but they will do.
