Ford Thames 307E Anglia Van |
The Thames 307E van was launched by Ford UK in June 1961 based on the Anglia 105E saloon introduced in 1959. It came in two versions, the 5cwt (250kg) and the 7cwt (350kg) which were their maximum recommended load weights. They had a detuned version of the 997cc Anglia engine and a four speed gearbox. The 5cwt van had a narrow, radiator grille painted in the body colour, the 7cwt van had a full width chrome grille as used on the deluxe version of the car. From October 1962 the vans got the 1198cc engine used in the Anglia Super and were given the new model number of 309E, in 1965 the Thames name was dropped and they were marketed as Ford Anglia Vans. Production ended in November 1967 with 205,001 vans having been made. |
